Rice Krispies Treats Pumpkins Recipe.

Rice Krispies Treats Pumpkins.

Every year on Halloween, my family and I like to have fun creating sweet treats and desserts. Of course, I am definitely not that creative. So we browse online til we find a particularly awesome treat and then we make our own fun version of it. We found this fun Rice Krispies Treats Pumpkins recipe online at Food.com.

Ingredients :
3 tbs of melted butter
6 cups of rice krispies cereal
10 ounces of mini marshmallows
orange food coloring
tootsie rolls
Green food coloring (optional)
white icing (optional)

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time : 15 minutes
Yields : around 10 pumpkins

Instructions:

First, have a cookie sheet lined with wax or parchment paper ready. Then you melt the butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Then you add the marshmallows and melt in the microwave again for a few minutes until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then you add a few drops of orange food coloring until you have the right shade of orange that you like. Then mix in the cereal. Mix it well until all cereal is incorporated.

Next, you grease your hands lightly. Then you shape into small, handful sized balls.  Place them on your cookie sheet. Add a tootsie roll on top for the stem and you are done. I keep them in the fridge after that. Seems to make them hold together better. Also, you can add some green food coloring to some white icing and make leaves. I used a sandwich bag and cut the tip off of the bottom of the bag to squirt some green on the top of the pumpkins to look like vines and leaves. And that is it! Voila! Enjoy!!
