Let’s face it… the holidays can be stressful. There is all of the preparing and deciding what to cook. Figuring out how many people will be there and who is staying at your house. Where are they all going to sleep? Are they all going to want to use my wifi? And what about all the shopping. The horrible traffic, the crowds, and what in the world am I going to buy for my father-in-law? How will I possibly visit ALL of my family members. If I can’t visit them, I would at least like to be able to call of them without it costing me a small fortune. So yes… the holidays can be quite stressful. I have a few ideas that can help with that! And they can all be done from your mobile device!
RECIPE APPS
Is this your first time cooking Thanksgiving dinner all on your own? Not sure how long to cook that turkey? Are you looking for some yummy side dishes that can replace that boring old green bean casserole? There are a ton of recipe and cooking apps that you can access on your mobile phone or tablet that can help guide you through the entire dinner. From the turkey all the way through to desserts… here are a few of the recipes apps that I use to make Thanksgiving just a little bit easier. All of these apps are free and on Android.
- Food Network in the Kitchen
- Allrecipes Dinner Spinner
- Allthecooks recipes
TO DO LISTS and PLANNERS
With all of the stuff that needs to get done, it is so hard to remember everything. Last year, my husband and I cooked the entire Thanksgiving meal on our own. Once we got to my father’s house, we realized that we had forgotten to cook my sister’s favorite part of the meal, the noodles. She was not a happy camper! Here are a few free (OR cheap) Android apps that can make remembering even the smallest details a little easier.
- Thanksgiving Planner (only 99 cents!)
- Todoist: To-Do List, Task List
- ColorNote Notepad Notes
CAMERA
One thing that everyone wants to do during the holidays is take as many pictures as possible. This is one of the only times during the year that the whole family gets together, so, of course everyone wants to document that! And you have a camera right there in your hand with your mobile phone. Some mobile phones have really excellent cameras that can take amazing pictures. I took this picture, below, with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and did not edit it, at all. And I think it is an awesome picture of my excellent holiday cookies! So get to clicking! Take those photos!
SHOPPING
While I may not always participate in all of the craziness that is Black Friday (I like to shop from the comfort of my couch), there are apps that can help you get the best deal and keep up with all of the great deals! Here are some free ones for Android!
- Black Friday 2015 - Best Deals
- BlackFriday.com
- Coupons & Black Friday
