Having a night out? Why not accessorize with an evening shawl?

January 20, 2014 by Mom Does It All 11 Comments

Evening shawls are one of the most popular accessories for women attending celebrations and formal parties this year. In fact, many women are finding out how easy it is to increase the stylish appeal of an evening dress with the help of a shawl. Here are some of the ways that women are incorporating evening shawls into their celebratory ensembles.

A woman wearing a strapless cocktail dress on a cool night can bring along her evening shawl as a cover for her shoulders. She can look stylish and be a little more comfortable with the help of this light-weight accessory. If she gets warm while dancing or talking with friends indoors, she can hang the shawl over the back of a chair or even fold it up and place it near her evening bag. It is an item that is both attractive and practical!

Some women are pairing a brightly colored evening shawl with a basic black dress to give the ensemble an extra dose of flair. A bright red shawl is an unexpected surprise on the shoulders of a woman who is dressed in classic black. Women are creating this pairing to make a memorable impression on fellow party-goers.

Finally, there are women who love to enhance the color of a cocktail dress by adding an evening shawl in a similar shade of color. This gives an ensemble a finished look. Also, a woman who wears her evening shawl in the crooks of her elbows conveys an elegant air.

My daughter is all about evening shawls, as she loves to add colour and style to her outfits. I could learn a lot from her fashion sense!
