As Moms, it can be very hard time find any time for yourself. It can be even harder when it is summertime and the kids are not in school. But it is very important that we do find time for ourselves. And I try to do just that. And the thing I find most relaxing when I have some time for myself is to read a book. And I have a great one for you! Behind Closed doors by B.A. Harris is a thrilling page-turner that had me holding my breath with every page turned.
BEHIND CLOSED DOORS by B.A. PARIS
From the very first page of the book, I could tell that the relationship between Jack and Grace was not all that it seemed. From the way she so nervously moved about her company, making sure that everything was perfect and scared if it was not. I could tell then that Jack wasn’t that kind of husband she had thought he would be. Everyone can be different behind closed doors. And we do not find out about it until we are closed behind those doors, too.
Grace and Jack get married because she thinks he is everything she has ever wanted in a man. She thinks he is successful, attractive, kind, and even accepting of the fact that in just a short time, she plans on moving her younger sister in to live with her. A sister that has Down’s Syndrome. And she is pleasantly surprised that Jack is totally fine to do that with her. So she quickly agrees to marry him. And on her wedding night, she finds out that he is not the man she thought he was, at all. He is psychotic, controlling, and has devastating plans for her and her younger sister.
This book kept me riveted with every page. I could not put it down. It scared me and I had to hold my breath after turning every page. I could not release that breath until I had read to the very last page. The story was suspenseful, intriguing, and never left me bored. I am not ashamed to say that I read the entire book in one day. I just had to know how it would end. I had to know what Grace’s fate was. And it was well worth it. I loved reading this book. It kept me interested and captivated and it is definitely worth a reread.
