The holidays are upon us! Thanksgiving is only six days away! Every year for Thanksgiving, I do most of the cooking and I totally enjoy it. What I do not enjoy is the heartburn that comes after eating all of the delicious food that I made. We always make the tradition Thanksgiving dishes like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. But not everyone enjoys those dishes so we always add in a few ‘untraditional dishes’ as well. One untraditional dish that we make every year is chili! And chili is the number one food that gives me heartburn for days! Nexium® 24HR Tablets 42ct help relieve my frequent heartburn. So let me share my chili recipe with you and tell you all about the advantages of using Nexium® 24HR if you have frequent heartburn like I do. That way you can completely enjoy your holidays!

SLOW COOKER BEEF CHILI

There is nothing better on a cool, fall day than a big bowl of chili. Yes, even on Thanksgiving day. I love to cook most of the morning, then sit on the couch in the afternoon while watching football and enjoying chili and all of the other foods that I have cooked for the Thanksgiving feast.

This Slow Cooker Beef Chili recipe is super easy. All you have to do is brown your beef and then put it in the slow cooker along with all of the other ingredients and let it sit in the slow cooker for a few hours. That is it! Easy!

INGREDIENTS

  • one pound of ground beef
  • 3 cans of chili beans
  • 1 six-ounce can of tomato paste
  • 1 eight-ounce can of tomato sauce
  • 2 packets of chili seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 36 ounces of tomato juice
  • 1/4 cup of diced banana pepper rings

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook your ground beef in a pan until browned and then drain the grease.
  2. Put the ground beef in the slow cooker.
  3. Add all of the other ingredients to the slow cooker. Stir well.
  4. You may not need ALL of the tomato juice. Add the tomato juice until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Cook on HIGH for 2 hours.
  6. Enjoy.

One of the great things about chili is that you can eat in in many different ways. You can just have a big bowl of it all by itself. You can put it in chili boats as you can see pictured above. You can pour it over tortilla chips. Or you can even use it as a dip! I save the leftovers and use it as a hot dog sauce! The possibilities are endless with chili!

Nexium® 24HR

I always have a shopping list prepared for Thanksgiving. And that shopping trip always includes a stop at Walgreens. I need to pick up my paper towels and cleaning supplies. But I also need to pick up my Nexium® 24HR Tablets 42ct and they are right in the antacid aisle! So easy to find, it takes me just seconds to move on to the rest of my Thanksgiving shopping list. Because no matter what might trigger your heartburn, Nexium® 24HR Tablets 42ct will provide all day and all night relief.

And from now until November 30th, you can get an In-Store Walgreens coupon for $2.00 off Nexium 24HR (48 ct.)!! Or you can take advantage of the special price in-store – Two Nexium 24HR (28 ct.) for $40.00!!

Do you have frequent heartburn? What foods usually trigger it? Do you have any ‘untraditional’ Thanksgiving recipes? Share with me in the comments!!!

It is definitely chili season and I love the idea of letting the slow cooker do the work. We always keep heartburn prevention on hand, just in case.

My husband was just asking me to make chili for him yesterday! I was trying to avoid it, but I think I am going to have to cave and make him a batch.

I love making chili in the slow cooker. It’s the best when put in early on a Sunday morning and then eaten during a football game hours later 🙂

This is exactly the kind of dinner I want to make this time of year. Chili is great comfort food and I love recipes made with my slow cooker.
