Easy Easter Basket Cupcakes Recipe & Easter Blog Hop!

April 17, 2014 by Mom Does It All 41 Comments

There are so many awesome Easter Basket Cupcake Recipes out there on the World Wide Web. This is the recipe that my daughter and I do every year. You can use anything for the basket handle. We love the Spring Twizzlers. You can use regular Twizzlers, Cowtails, Pretzels, or pretty much anything that you can bend or that ha a curve in it. And I know that most people do not like to use food coloring, so you can use any icing without food coloring or make your own icing.
INGREDIENTS:
1 box of white cake mix
1 can of white frosting
2 drops of green food coloring
1/2 cup of coconut flakes
1 bag of Spring Twizzlers
1 bag of jelly beans
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Make the cupcakes per the instructions on the cake mix box.  To be more festive, I like to use the pastel silicone cupcake mold or Easter cupcake wrappers.
2.  Use 2 or 3 drops of green food coloring and add it to your entire can of icing. Then also add the 1/2 cup of coconut to the icing as well. This will give your icing more of a ‘grass’ texture. Mix it all together.
3.  Ice your cupcakes. Then add a few jellybeans to the top of each one. And also add your Twizzler basket handle. And voila! Easy Easter Basket Cupcakes!! Enjoy!
YIELDS - about 20 cupcakes
TIME: -Cooking 30 minutes
Total time - 45 minutes.
