EASTER PEEPS POPCORN

This yummy Easter Peeps Popcorn recipe is super easy to make and it looks pretty, too! It looks just like an Easter treat should! It is also fun for the kids to make and fun for the kids to eat, too! You could ball these up and put them in plastic bags to pass out as treats for the kids on Easter day! You could serve it as a treat for your Easter gathering. There are so many possibilities with the sweet and salty fun treat!

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 cups plain popcorn (plain works better because if you use butter-flavored, the Peeps marshmallows will have a hard time sticking to it)
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 4 (5 piece) packages of Peeps marshmallow bunnies or chicks in the following colors: pink, blue-green, purple and yellow

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Line a baking or cookie sheet with waxed paper and set aside.
2. Prepare your popcorn via stovetop or microwave. Once the popcorn from the microwave or stove top has cooled a bit, spread out on cookie sheet.
3. In a medium saucepan, melt 1 Tablespoon butter over low heat. Be sure to tip the pan back and forth to coat the entire bottom with butter.
4. Place a 5 pack of yellow Peeps into the buttered saucepan and melt over medium heat. Stir continuously. Otherwise, the Peeps will brown.
5. Once the marshmallows are completely melted, spoon the mixture over 1/4 of the popcorn.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 using the purple, blue and pink Peeps.
7. To serve, break the awesome gooey popcorn into bite-size pieces and place in cute serving cups.
8. ENJOY!!!
