My family and I are huge sports fans. Whether it is football, basketball, soccer or even special events like the Olympics… we always get together and watch sports. And nothing goes together with the big game like food! It’s like salt and pepper. You cannot have one without the other. Big game = big food. But this year… I am trying to branch out with our food options. Everyone always seems so adamant about the appetizers. There always seems to be ample supplies of nachos and chicken wings and those sorts of things, but I think everyone is doing a huge disservice to themselves by not paying more attention the to the sweet side of life. I am all about the sweet treats and desserts for this year’s big game.

Snickers Pudding Pie

I have so many different recipes that I could use for the menu for this year’s Big Game, but I also do not want to be in the kitchen all day either. So I have two quick recipes on hand that only take about 5 minutes each!

SNICKERS at Walmart

The first thing I had to do is head out to pick up some essentials for making some sweet treats. I picked up some delicious SNICKERS® products for a delicious SNICKERS pudding pie recipe. As you can see, I think everyone else in my town had the same idea because the SNICKERS section at Walmart was looking a little bare! And I also picked up some Skittles® so that I could make the most amazing Skittles fudge.

Skittles at Walmart

The Skittles fudge is so easy to make. It only takes about 5 minutes of prep time and 5 minutes of work. Seriously, it IS that easy! All you need is four ingredients. Or just 3 ingredients if you do not like to use food coloring. You need 6 cups of white chocolate chips, 2 cans (14 ounce cans) of sweetened condensed milk, 1 and a half cups of Skittles and some food coloring. Just mix the milk and chips in a saucepan, stirring constantly on low heat until all the chips are melted. When that is done, stir in the Skittles, and pour the whole mixture into a parchment paper-lined cake pan.

This next step is optional… to make the fudge look fun and pretty… I always add a few drops of food coloring in top, different colors… and then swirl them around to make a fun and cute swirly design. Then put it in the fridge or freezer to harden up. Then cut in squares and serve! It makes about 24 pieces depending on how big you cut the squares. So yummy…

Skittles Fudge

And if you do not like to use food coloring in your recipes, the fudge looks just as cute and yummy without it.

Skittles Fudge

The SNICKERS pudding pie may just be easier to make than the Skittles fudge. It only has 5 ingredients. You need need about 20 SNICKERS mini candy bars, milk, a graham cracker pie crust, 2 cups of cool whip and one package of chocolate pudding mix. The first things I do is cut up the SNICKERS bars into small pieces and I set them all aside. Then I make the pudding mix according to the directions on the box, which is where the milk comes in. After the milk and chocolate pudding mix haven been mixed together then youfold in the 2 cups of cool whip and then HALF of the cut up SNICKERS candy bars.

Pour the whole mixture into your pie crust and then top it with the other HALF of the chopped up SNICKERS candy bars! Let it sit on the fridge for a couple of hours before serving. And voila! Two quick, easy and yummy desserts for the Big Game using two of my favorite candies, SNICKERS and Skittles.

It is also fun to decorate and serve the food to your guests or family in a fun way, too. I have a cute football tray for snacks and a really cute football bucket for drinks, ice or other snacks. Then I will just add all of my leftover SNICKERS and Skittles to the tray for even more yummy snacks. Now I am so ready for the Big Game! What about you?!??!

I am not sure Pauline. I have never made it without Cool Whip. You could just leave the Cool Whip out altogether and have more of a pudding pie.
